But why should I get my roof restored? What’s in it for me?

Have you ever wondered, when big storms hit, why some houses are left completely destroyed, and others stand strong and seem as though nothing has happened?

This is almost always because; the roofs of these houses were never maintained or taken care of.
If YOU are one of these home owners who have failed to regularly maintain your roof then you could be in serious danger.

But it’s okay you’re not alone and it’s not your fault. If you do want to ensure you and your family are safe, and that you don’t get left with the bill of completely replacing your roof after the next big storm, give us a call for a free quote, and invest in maintaining your roof.

Will having my roof restored add value to my Property?

YES, definitely! Having your roof restored is a huge “value add” to your property. It not only strengthens the structural integrity of your home, protecting you against; leaking, rotting, rusting and all sorts of other roof nasties but it looks great as well! Having your roof restored brings a whole new light to the appearance of your home. It without a doubt makes your home look fresher, more modern and more inviting!

Plus, with Do It Easy, you have the opportunity to speak with the experts in the trade, to help you choose the perfect colour to accentuate the great features of your home!

Why wouldn’t I just replace my roof instead of restoring it?

1. Price, 2. Necessity and 3. Timing!

If you are the type of person who wants value for money, than restoring your roof is much more suited to your needs. Replacing your roof is a costly and timely experience, it can take over 2 weeks to have your roof replaced and can cost anywhere up to $25,000.Plus a lot of the time a whole roof replacement just isn’t necessary.

It is very important that you get your roof inspected by a professional before you make the decision to either replace or restore your roof. A full roof replacement is great, IF your roof has decayed too much to be restored.

BUT be very careful not to be convinced into getting your roof completely replaced when realistically it may only need to be properly restored.

Again we highly recommend that you have your roof inspected by a roof painting and restoration company, If you would like more information on this enter your details in the FREE Quote box below, or simply give us a ring, and we will come and give you a complimentary, obligation free, inspection of your roof and a quote, so that you have enough information to make a wise decision.

So what exactly IS a roof restoration?

Having your roof restored is like going to the dentist…

Look, if you get one or two holes over the years, you would go to the dentist, get a few fillings, a nice clean up and you’re on your way. No need to replace your whole set of teeth right?

Well, roof restoration is the same. You may have a few broken or rotting tiles and it may be in desperate need of a hot water high pressure clean. So, after sorting out the rust and using specially designed products to prevent it from returning, we will lather it in a striking coat of paint and your roof is good as new!
And there was absolutely no need to completely replace the whole thing now was there?
Technically “Roof Restoration” is a term that is used to describe the process of cleaning, repairing, re-coating and repainting roof. Roof restoration is beneficial for just about all types of roofs, including Colorbond, Zincalume, Galvanised iron, Decromastic, Terracotta tile, and of course concrete tile, although the process varies slightly from roof to roof.

So, if you’re into details, here’s a quick overview of what happens during each roof restoration:

Concrete Tile Roof:

Hot water high Pressure clean the entire roof to remove salt residue, mould spores, mould, flaking paint, dirt, grime etc. It also prepares the roof to ensure it is a perfect canvas for long lasting and impressionable results.

Remove ridge caps and re-bed if required.

Re-point all ridge caps with a polymer based flexible pointing mortar.

Apply a sealer / primer coat to the entire roof.

Apply 2 or more acrylic membrane coats of high quality, premium paint in the colour of your choice.

Colorbond, Zincalume or Galvanised Iron Roof:

Firstly we use a hot water high pressure cleaning system. This process removes all loose rust and flaking paint, allowing it to dry then applying an anti-rust converter solution.

Replace any sheets where rust is beyond treating.

Replace any loose or rusty nails or screws.

Apply an oil based (alkyd) meta primer coat.

Apply 2 or more acrylic membrane coats in the colour of your choice.

Terracotta Tiles Roof:

Hot water high Pressure clean the entire roof, this removes all traces of mould and prepares the substrate well.

Remove ridge caps and re-bed if required.

Re-point all ridge caps with a polymer based flexible pointing mortar.

Apply 2 coats of Terracotta glaze to the entire roof.

When this process is adhered to we can confidently provide a minimum ten year guarantee on all our work. Check out our GUARANTEES page for more info.
